- American Odds
- American Odds use a plus or minus sign to indicate how much you win on a $100 bet or how much you need to bet to win $100.
- Arbitrage
- Arbitrage is placing bets on all possible outcomes of an event across different bookmakers to guarantee a profit regardless of the result.
- Bankroll
- Bankroll is the total amount of money you have set aside for placing bets.
- Bet Builder
- Bet Builder is a tool that lets you combine multiple markets from the same match into one customized wager.
- Bet Slip
- Bet Slip is a digital record that lists the selections, odds, stake, and potential payout of your wager.
- Bonus
- Bonus is promotional credit or extra funds that a sportsbook gives you, often subject to wagering requirements before withdrawal.
- Bookmaker
- Bookmaker is a company or platform that sets odds and accepts bets on sporting events.
- Cash Out
- Cash Out allows you to settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or limiting a loss based on the current odds.
- Closing Line
- Closing Line is the final odds offered just before a match starts; it is used to judge how good a bet’s price was.
- Decimal Odds
- Decimal Odds express the total return (including your stake) as a single number; for example, 2.50 means you get $2.50 for every $1 wagered.
- Dutching
- Dutching is spreading your stake across multiple outcomes so that you profit no matter which one wins.
- Fractional Odds
- Fractional Odds show the profit you make relative to your stake; 3/2 means you win $3 for every $2 you bet.
- Hedge
- Hedge is betting on the opposite outcome to reduce risk or lock in a profit after an original bet.
- Juice (Vig)
- Juice (Vig) is the built‑in commission that a bookmaker charges, reflected in the odds, making the total implied probabilities exceed 100%.
- Line Movement
- Line Movement refers to changes in odds or spreads after they are first posted, usually caused by betting volume or new information.
- Live Betting (In-Play)
- Live Betting (In-Play) lets you place bets on a match after it has already started, with odds that update as the game unfolds.
- Martingale
- Martingale is a betting system where you double your stake after each loss, aiming to recover all previous losses with a single win.
- Moneyline
- Moneyline is a bet on which team will win a match, with odds that reflect each team's chance of winning.
- Odds
- Odds indicate how much you can win from a bet relative to your stake.
- Over/Under (Total Goals)
- Over/Under (Total Goals) is a bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be more or less than a set number.
- Parlay (Accumulator)
- Parlay (Accumulator) combines two or more selections into a single bet, and all must win for you to get a payout.
- Single Bet
- Single Bet is a wager on one outcome; you win if that selection is correct.
- Spread (Handicap)
- Spread (Handicap) gives the underdog a virtual head start or the favorite a deficit to make the bet more balanced.
- Stake
- Stake is the amount of money you risk on a single bet.
- Value Bet
- Value Bet is a wager where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving you a positive expected return.
